What Have They Done With Jesus?

Denise and I walked into our house Thursday evening to find the living room t.v.  on, tuned to ABC news. I was intrigued by the segment being shown. It was entitled Children Accused of Witchcraft.

Click HERE to view the segment.

My first reaction was,”WHAT?!?!?!?” Then I began to think about where Jesus is being put in all of these “excercisms” and accusations of these children. “What have they done with my Jesus?” was the first thing that came to mind. Then, “How is this going to change the work of future missionaries to this area?” Will these people who are being led astray continue to believe that our God is only a God of punishment, not also of love, grace and forgiveness? Just something to chew on tonight. Oh, and be sure you watch the segment. I wouldn’t even post it if I thought it to be a waste of time.

Peace be with you, friends!

We Are All Witnesses

we are all witnesses

These billboards can be found in Cleveland, home of LeBron James and the Cavaliers. I saw this for the first time on Sportscenter today and it reminded me of something I learned very early in my Christian walk, “We are all witnesses.” Acts 1:8 says it like this

8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

As believers in Christ we have been commanded to be Christ’s witnesses “…to the ends of the earth.” You may be thinking, “I couldn’t do that, I don’t know enough, I’m not smart enough, etc.” Thankfully, like it says in the beginning of verse 8, we are given the Holy Spirit,THEN we are to be His witnesses. We cannot do it alone, God has to be with us. Our whole lives should be a witness and testimony to the power and goodness of our God.

So what are some small things that you can start doing right now to be a positive witness?
