What Is It?

This past week at Lifechurch.tv’s “At the Movies” series we were introduced to Coach Ken Carter. I have yet to see the movie in its entirety, but I hope to at some point.

At one point in the movie, Coach Carter asks one of his players, “What is your greatest fear?” This is something that I have been challenged by this week. Now I pass the challenge on to you.

What is your greatest fear?

Just a Bit of Fun

I was bored today, so I did some YouTube browsing and found this nugget of a parody from Tim Hawkins. Hilarious Christian comedian, I hope you enjoy it.

What Does It Say

Posted by admin | Church Stuff, God, Reading, The Word, Worship | Sunday 19 July 2009 12:04 pm

Hey everyone! I’m going to try something new here on the blog, but it’s going to require some reader participation. What I’m going to do is give you a few verses, probably 2-3, and I want you to share what you feel each verse is saying. Some of them you will probably end up trying to read more into it just because what it says is so, well, duh! So let’s give it a shot, what do you say?

Ephesians 2:8-9

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

John 5:24

24“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

Ok, there are your verses. Let me challenge you not only to put down a response, but also pick one of these verses and memorize it. Here’s what the word says about itself 2 Timothy 3:16-17:

16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Look forward to what these verses say to you.

Purpose vs. Calling

Posted by admin | Church Stuff, God | Monday 13 July 2009 8:09 pm

So this is more of a massive scale reTweet from @Dmosley. So here’s his question:

What is the difference b/t purpose in life & a specific “calling”? Are they synonymous with one another?

So post a comment here, I’m sure we’ll have some interesting ideas…yours is important too! So tell us what you think!
